Dec 2007: .Thanks again for all the interest in my photos and site...I was thinking of putting together a book thru Blurb.... I think the theme would be similar to the old book by the late John Sytsma "Fire Rigs Fighting Fires". Good quality shots of apparatus working at fire scenes from the late 50s til ???? I imagine that might be interesting to some of you.
Any thoughts or suggestions??? SRResquire@aol.com
Update*** My site is 1 year old this month (June 2007)..I am AMAZED at the amount of visitors that have visited..it's great so many of you enjoy my photos...I have decided to renew the site for another year..It costs me 150.00 per year to run the site and I was able to do a little better than break even so it worked out great!!! I just want to remind everyone that you CAN purchase any of the photos you see on this site and I feel the cost is very reasonable..I'm not looking to get rich but merely make expenses so I can continue to share all these photos with you..THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL THE SITE VISITS, COMMENTS AND SUPPORT over this last year..Let's all hope we have a safe, fun and interesting summer...
My name is Steve Redick and I am a senior fire alarm operator with the Chicago Fire Department...I have been on the job for about 27 years now..and have been a "fan" since the late 1960s. I have been an active fire photographer most of my life and have a large collection of images. I hope to share most of my collection on this site. I am starting off the galleries with the photos taken in the 1950s and 60s by my father Warren Redick who is a retired CFD Battalion Chief..He now lives in Bull Shoals Arkansas. He was an early adopter of Kodachrome film and has many images I consider to be unique and classic. I will endeavor to post most of his work first as this seems to be the images most in demand. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I do and please note that you can order many size prints of ANY of the images you see here..but remember my main purpose here is to share these images with the "firefans" of the world..Be sure and check back often as this is a work in progress!
